Et c&rsquo;est \u00e0 juste titre qu&rsquo;il fut honor\u00e9 en 1990, lorsque John Bloor pr\u00e9senta au monde entier ses six nouveaux mod\u00e8les Triumph \u00ab\u00a0made in Hinckley\u00a0\u00bb sur le Salon de la Moto de Cologne. Deux d&rsquo;entre eux portaient le nom l\u00e9gendaire de Daytona, une tradition toujours perp\u00e9tu\u00e9e. Avec leur car\u00e9nage parfait et leur maniabilit\u00e9 exceptionnelle, la 750 trois cylindres et la 1000 quatre cylindres en ligne \u00e9taient les plus sportives des premi\u00e8res motos d&rsquo;Hinckley, et gagn\u00e8rent rapidement de nombreux adeptes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fausse vraie sportive, la Daytona 1000 l&rsquo;est certes par sa position de conduite, ses suspensions \u00e0 multiples possibilit\u00e9s de r\u00e9glage et ses \u00e9triers de frein 4 pistons, mais reste avant tout une excellente routi\u00e8re qui n&rsquo;a pas pour but de rivaliser avec les supersportives nippones (Yamaha FZR ou Suzuki GSXR), machines beaucoup plus exclusives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taill\u00e9e pour la route, avec des suspensions confortables, un moteur tr\u00e8s souple regorgeant de couple, la Daytona 1000 est plus adapt\u00e9e au long trajet routier qu&rsquo;au circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour les motards insatisfaits de la pouss\u00e9e de la Daytona 750, Triumph propose la tr\u00e8s rapide Daytona 1000. S&rsquo;inscrivant lui aussi dans le concept modulaire de la gamme de Hinckley, son moteur de 1000 cc est l&rsquo;\u00e9quivalent 4 cylindres du 3 cylindres de la 750.&nbsp;Son 4\u00e8me cylindre profite non seulement au couple et aux reprises, mais aussi \u00e0 la puissance pure, il alourdit cependant la machine : ainsi, la Daytona 1000 fait bien ses 260 Kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En revanche, son \u00e9norme puissance de 121 chevaux \u00e0 10 500 tr\/min en version \u00ab\u00a0libre\u00a0\u00bb est tr\u00e8s s\u00e9duisante. Lors des tests effectu\u00e9s, elle est chonom\u00e9tr\u00e9e \u00e0 239 km\/h !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 ses qualit\u00e9s, la Daytona 1000 ne sera produite que jusqu&rsquo;en 1992 et vendue jusqu&rsquo;en 1993, les amateurs de Triumph pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant les 3 cylindres de la 900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Triumph arr\u00eata la production de ces premi\u00e8res Daytona fin 1992, pour les remplacer par deux mod\u00e8les qui allaient se r\u00e9v\u00e9ler tout aussi importants&nbsp;: la 900 et la 1200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vu par Dick Sheperd, qui poss\u00e8de plus de 300 Triumph (source Spirit)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Les premi\u00e8res Daytona modernes, sorties en 1990, ont plac\u00e9 John Bloor sur le devant de la sc\u00e8ne, car elles \u00e9taient en avance sur leur temps\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, souligne Dick Shepherd, heureux propri\u00e9taire de plus de 300 Triumph. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Bloor avait recrut\u00e9 pour cela beaucoup de nouvelles t\u00eates, et ses recrutements se sont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9s gagnants, vu le succ\u00e8s que les motos ont rencontr\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur design audacieux et leur conduite exceptionnelle. Ces mod\u00e8les ont marqu\u00e9 un r\u00e9el tournant pour Triumph.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Les nouvelles Daytona sont aussi belles que jamais, sans compter toutes les am\u00e9liorations technologiques et en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9, d&rsquo;\u00e9conomie, de confort, de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de performance qu&rsquo;elles contiennent.
